The following courses are approved with DPOR both live and virtually.

Virginia Pre-Licensing Principles and Practice – 60 Hours

This course includes everything that a student needs to get their real estate license in Virginia.


Virginia Post Licensing – 30 Hours

This course includes the required topics on: Fair Housing, Law and Board Regulations, Ethics, Industry Trends, Virginia Agency Law, Contract Writing, Risk Management, Escrow Requirements, and Real Estate Finance.


A Field Guide to the American House – 4 Hours

Students will discuss style, form, structure, and neighborhoods of the American House. Time periods will then be discussed and the key architectural features of each period. We will discuss why these things are important to the agent, seller, and buyer. Understanding layouts and functionality of a home impacts the home’s history. Understanding building techniques and styles can assist and agent in establishing when a house was actually built instead of relying on tax records, etc.


BOO! Don’t Be Scared of Stigmatized Properties – 4 Hours

Students will identify what a stigmatized property is and the differences between the six common types of stigmas- criminal, debt, minimal, murder/suicide, phenomena/haunting, public. Discuss disclosure laws (PA, NJ, MD, VA, DC). Discuss who is required to make the disclosure-seller? Listing agent? Buyer agent? Review of NAR Code of Ethics. Debate and analyze how a stigma can affect the pricing of a home? Identify some iconic stigmatized homes and allow students time to share stories of how they have overcome stigmatized homes with their buyers or sellers. Discuss best practices and techniques.


Brokers: Avoid the Top Violations – 8 Hours

Broker Management and Supervision of agents is important in a brokerage. All of these learning objectives will focus on brokers duties and responsibilities. The course covers a review DPOR Licensing Law and Board Regulations. Review the basics of escrow accounts, standards of conduct, and deposits/withdraws from the accounts. Study recent cases in which escrow violations occurred. Discussions on this include identifying the parties, what happened, DPOR findings, penalties, and how issues could be avoided. Identify and discuss the Top 10 VREB Violations as per Virginia REALTORS®. Discuss and review recent cases where each of these Top 10 violations occurred. This will include identifying the parties, what happened, DPOR findings, penalties, and how issues could be avoided.

This class can be a stand alone class or be included with a Virginia CE package.


VA Salesperson & Broker Package (16 Hour)

This course includes the required topic hours in: Ethics, Virginia Agency, Contract Writing, Fair Housing, Legal & Flood Updates, and Buyer/Seller Representation with a Focus on Industry Trends (Related Topic).


Buyer and Seller Representation with a Focus on Industry Trends – 8 Hours

Students will analyze today’s new buyer behaviors, qualify and counsel buyers, assist in buyer home selection, and sharpen sales skills; discuss and identify pre-listing research, identify seller’s motivations and develop presentation, reviewing marketing/selling listing, and how to provide superior service; identify social media platforms and understand uses for them; reviewing the Board regulations on electronic advertising and learn about advertising on social media; understand how to keep in touch with your sphere of influence and be human.


Broker Pre-Licensing Courses – 45 hours each – 180 hours total

The Broker Pre-Licensing courses include 45 hours each in the DPOR required topics: Finance, Appraisal, Law, and Brokerage/Management.
